Mascots Pragati, Vikas unveiled for digital Census 2027, allowing self-enumeration
Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled two mascots, Pragati (female enumerator) and Vikas (male enumerator), for the upcoming Population Census 2027. He also soft-launched four digital tools for the exercise. This will be India's first digital Census, and notably, the first to allow self-enumeration and enumeration of caste.
