National Green Tribunal (NGT) Rules Varanasi ‘Tent City’ Violated Environmental Norms on Ganga Riverbed
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has ruled that the ‘Tent City’ established on the Ganga riverbed in Varanasi in 2023 operated in violation of environmental laws. The project, inaugurated by the Prime Minister, was found to have violated the River Ganga (Rejuvenation, Protection and Management) Authorities Order, 2016.
